I am a board-certified Family Physician and have lived in Casper, Wyoming since 1993. My wife Jane is a third generation Wyoming native. We have twins, Luke and Juliane, who were born in 1996. |

Family
Values I have a vision to enable my family to share every aspect of my life, and thus have been convicted to re-involve my family in my practice. Some of you may remember when my kids set up a pretend clinic in the vacant office next door. They were Doctor Luke and Nurse Juliane and would dispense bottles of hole-punched paper pills or written "prescriptions" to anyone who would play along. Jane was also an integral part of my clinic, filling in wherever she was needed. I now enjoy an office setting where my wife and kids work with me each day, as well as continue with their homeschooling. I envision that my kids will continue to assist me in even more office duties as they mature and I find myself both intrigued and challenged with this concept of a family-integrated business. |
Faith Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1 I believe that God created us for a purpose. That purpose is to bring glory to Him as our Creator by serving Him to the best of our abilities in whatever profession we choose. I wanted to be in the medical profession from the time I was in junior high. Although my interest was initially directed toward animals, it was later redirected to mankind. Midway through medical school, I took a year sabbatical to work on a ranch since I had a dream of becoming a small-town doc with a ranch on the side. My employer was a rancher, the father of my med school roommate, and the pastor of the local community church. God used this man and the rural Christian community in which he lived to draw me to Himself. After four months of studying the Bible and having long discussions about its meaning with my employer and other community members, I realized that evolution was flawed and could not explain the intricacies of the human body and the origin of life. I then turned from my faith in evolution to faith in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, trusting Him to direct my life and save me from an eternity without Him. As I have grown in my Christian faith, I have found it impacting my medical profession in many ways. I came to understand that wellness has both a physical and a spiritual aspect. By praying for and, when asked, with my patients, I try to integrate both aspects. |
Practicing
What
I
Preach I try to make sure I dont advise my patients to do anything I wouldnt do myself. Part of the healthy lifestyle Ive adopted includes running three miles three days a week; we grind our own wheat, avoid trans and hydrogenated fats, eat plenty of fresh fruits and veggies, take Usana vitamins (a mix of anti-oxidants, trace minerals, and omega-3 fatty acids), drink water or milk, and enjoy eating organic or ranch eggs, dark chocolate, and grass-fed beef. As you can see, I enjoy practicing what I preach! |
